Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The put-in is not too far from Hot Springs, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. The wonderful Arkansas scenery and the beautiful way the water current
moves down the stream beats anything. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are no other sections to
paddle along Gulpha Creek than the Ridgeway Road to Highway 270 section. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Ouachita Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The Ridgeway Road to Highway 270 section of Gulpha Creek in Garland County is 2.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II+ section.

Creek is a wet place that gets lots of rain; the month with most of the rain is March, and January is the month with the least moisture. You are close to Spencer Bay since you're here at Gulpha Creek, and don't miss out on a visit to Hot Springs National Park since you're here.
At Gulpha Creek through the summer months highs are in the 90's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Gulpha Creek are in the 20's.
