This section of Gulpha Creek is 2.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II+ section. The put-in is not too far from Hot Springs, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Whitewater paddling here in the Ouachita Mountains is a great experience. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number
of paddling places. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Arkansas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak
back to put-in a few times. The scenic beauty of Garland County and the cool fresh water beats anything. There are no other stretches to paddle along Gulpha Creek than the Ridgeway Road to Highway 270 stretch. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

very delightful location to take a look at close to Gulpha Creek; lots of people from Hot Springs come here. Gulpha Creek usually gets a good deal of rain; the wettest month of the year is typically March, that's the one that rains the most, and January is the month with the
least moisture. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Gulpha Creek. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Gulpha Creek are in the 20's.
