The wonderful Crawford County scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Fort Smith, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The to Highway 220 stretch of Hart Creek is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV(V) section of whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The to Highway 220 stretch
is the only paddling stretch along Hart Creek. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number
of rivers in this state are quite easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful Boston Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
