Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The natural beauty of Van Buren - Faulkner County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The Highway 92 to Cove Creek section is the only paddling section along Hogan's Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking     this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: Hogan's Creek is a reasonably wet place mostly with a large amount of rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is January. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Hogan's Creek. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 60's.
