The Cub Creek to Big Piney section of Hurricane Creek is 10 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III+ section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The scenic beauty of Arkansas and the cool fresh water beats anything. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. If you're coming from Harrison it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Hurricane Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Cub Creek to Big Piney section is the only one. When you're paddling down a Boston Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
