This section of Illinois River in Arkansas is 14.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The beautiful Ozarks scenery is an added bonus. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. No shortage of     good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Illinois River, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
