The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Arkansas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. If
you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. This section of Illinois River in Washington and Benton County is 13.7 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and
just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The wonderful Washington and Benton County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. The beauty of the Ozarks is a great plus for this river. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

at Illinois River usually tend to be in the 90's, and the overnight is slightly cooler of course, regularly in the 60's. All through the winter highs are mostly in the 40's, and overnight lows at Illinois River through the winter usually drop into the 20's. Illinois River is a
wet place that gets a great deal of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly September, that's the one that rains the most while January is frequently the driest month. It's always fine to check out Chambers Spring, and don't leave Illinois River without first going
for a hike along the Weddington Hiking Trail. Having a splendid time in the Ozarks is painless. Chambers Hollow is next to Illinois River and is a great spot.
