The scenic beauty of Washington and Benton County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The Robinson Road to Highway 16 section of Illinois River in Arkansas is 13.7 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Robinson Road to Highway 16 stretch is
one of them. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The beautiful Ozarks scenery is an added bonus. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if
you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The put-in is not too far from Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.

Yeah, come up here to the Ozarks for a brilliant time. Chambers Spring is always fun to check out. Near Illinois River you come across great places like Chambers Hollow; going for a hike on the Weddington Hiking Trail is always a brilliant adventure. At Illinois River during
the warm months highs are in the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Illinois River. Illinois River gets much water; most of the rain falls during September, and the driest month of the year is January.
