The nature scenery of Pope County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The starting location is a short drive from Russellville, as you can see on the road map further down. The Hector to Scottsville stretch of Illinois Bayou is 10 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. | your RV at a nearby campground. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere.
