The nature scenery of Logan County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. For all you camping people there are campgrounds
nearby. The Jack Creek Road to Jack Creek Rec Area stretch of Jack Creek in Logan County is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III+ section. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good
spots for that around here. This stretch is short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The wild scenery of the Ouachita Mountains is great. Jack Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Jack Creek Road to Jack Creek Rec Area stretch is the only one.
Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Jack Creek through the warmest time of the year are in the 90's with night lows in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's while Jack Creek night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. There is a nice
hiking trail in the neighborhood of Jack Creek called the Magazine Hiking Trail. Jack Creek gets a large amount of water; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one that rains the most while January is usually the driest month.
