  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The river winds through the Boston Mountains and you get great scenery. The wonderful Arkansas scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you
    have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your sleeping bag. The Dripping Springs to Highway 74 stretch of Kings River is 11 miles long and has been rated as a class III+ section by American Whitewater. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system,
the Dripping Springs to Highway 74 stretch is one of them. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.

Briefly about the general area:
Kings River is a relatively wet place typically with a lot of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is January. For the period of the summer months, highs mostly are in the 90's at Kings River, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come
 
with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Kings River are in the 20's.
Flat Rock Hollow is close to Kings River and is a good place.
