  The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Little Rock-North Little Rock, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Arkansas are often more forgiving than in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. This is an extremely short section so better bring some good walking shoes. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive
    a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Lake Norrell Spillway doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Lake Norrell Spillway section is the only one. The nature scenery of Saline County and the beautiful way the water current
moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Lake Norrell Spillway section of Lake Norrell Spillway in Arkansas is 0.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is wonderful. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that.

Lake Norrell Spillway is a wet place that gets lots of rainfall; of all the
 
months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and January is when it's the driest.
All through the months of summer, highs mostly are in the 90's at Lake Norrell Spillway, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the wintertime highs are typically in the 50's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Lake Norrell Spillway descend into the 20's.
