The Albert Pike Campgound to Highway 84 Bridge section of Little Missouri River in Montgomery/ Pike County is 8.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III+(IV) section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around     here you'll find a large number of good places. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater paddling here in the Ouachita Mountains is a great experience. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Little Missouri River usually tend to be in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 50's with   winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Little Missouri River. Little Missouri River is a wet site that gets a lot of rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain while January is usually the driest month.
