A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. The scenic beauty of Polk/ Montgomery/ Pike County and the water flowing gracefully down Little Missouri River are reasons     enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas are easier than the national norm, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beauty of the Ouachita Mountains is a great plus for this river. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Highway 84 Bridge to US Highway 70 Bridge section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Little Missouri River regularly gets a lot of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is the month with   the least moisture. For the duration of the days of summer highs here at Little Missouri River reach the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs all through the winter are regularly in the 50's while Little Missouri River overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's.
