The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. A     bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. The starting point is not too far from Hope, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The campgrounds here at Little Missouri River are pretty good. The nature scenery of Pike County and the water flowing gracefully down Little Missouri River beats anything. The beautiful Ouachita Mountains scenery is an added bonus. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Narrows Dam to CR 222 section is one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: A large amount of precipitation falls at Little   Missouri River; May is the wettest month with most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Little Missouri River through the warm days of summer are in the 90's with night lows in the 60's. All through the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 50's; night lows all through the wintertime for Little Missouri River tend to be in the 20's. If you want to stop at some exciting stuff, stop at Hinds Bluff; you can go for a hike on the Kizzia Trail. Be careful coming to the Ouachita Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again.
