The Mt Levi to Hagarville section of Little Piney Creek in Johnson County is 12 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Russellville, as you can see on the road map further down. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve
in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. The natural beauty of Johnson County and the water flowing gracefully down Little Piney Creek
have people coming here. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There's camping available near Little Piney Creek.

is the month with the least moisture. High temperatures at Little Piney Creek throughout the long summer days are in the 90's while night lows are ordinarily in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Little Piney Creek. There's
no way somebody can get bored here in the Boston Mountains. Sally Ann Hollow is a magnificent site to stop by nearby; do take a hike on the Grassy Point Trail.
