Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas are easier than the national norm, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The river winds through the Boston Mountains and you get great scenery. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. There's camping available near Little Piney Creek. Great exercise and just hanging     out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. If you're coming from Russellville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Little Piney Creek is a pretty wet place typically with a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is January.   You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Boston Mountains. All through the summertime here at Little Piney Creek, high temperatures usually reach the 90's, and the overnight is somewhat chillier of course, mostly in the 60's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Little Piney Creek drop into the 20's. A great spot in close proximity to Little Piney Creek is Sally Ann Hollow, and there's good hiking along the Grassy Point Trail.
