The natural beauty of Newton County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The river winds through the Boston Mountains and you get great scenery. Briefly about the general area: All through the months of summer highs here at Long Devil's Fork get into the   80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Long Devil's Fork are in the 20's. The high level of precipitation makes Long Devil's Fork a pretty wet place; most of the rain falls during May while January is generally the driest month. Nearby Sugar Gap is a magnificent location to go if you're at Long Devil's Fork, and there's delightful hiking along the Pedestal Rocks Trail. This location, the Boston Mountains, has so much outdoors amusing things. Don't leave Long Devil's Fork without first going for a hike along the Hideout Trail.
