This stretch of Mill Creek in Franklin County is 5.2 miles long and is a class III+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. The scenic beauty of Arkansas and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river
if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other sections to paddle along Mill Creek than the Devil's Canyon to Highway 215 section.
If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Arkansas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.
Briefly about the general area: Mill Creek is a reasonably wet place usually with a great deal of rain; the month with most of the rain is May; January meanwhile is the driest month. Fern Spring is a magnificent local attraction, and you could always
look at Devils Canyon. At Mill Creek through the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. Through the wintertime the highs are usually in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Mill Creek tend to be in the 20's. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining things to do in the Boston Mountains.
