The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t     have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. When you're paddling down a Ouachita Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Moore Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Highway 246 to Highway 278/4 stretch is the only one. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Briefly about the general area: During the summertime months at Moore Creek highs are frequently in the 80's; the nighttime is quite chillier of course, generally in the 60's. Through the winter this place gets   highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Moore Creek dip into the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Moore Creek a wet location; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is January.
