The natural beauty of Arkansas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. This section of Moore Creek in Howard County is 6.5 miles long and is a class II-III+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come     because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. The beauty of the Ouachita Mountains is a great plus for this river. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. Moore Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Highway 246 to Highway 278/4 section is the only one. Briefly about the general area: Moore Creek ordinarily gets a good deal of rain; May is when you get the most rain here, and January is when it's the driest. Throughout the months of summer here at Moore Creek, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's.
