The wonderful Arkansas scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas are easier than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This section of Mulberry River is 10 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want
to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great
reasons to come. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Highway 23 to Campbell's Cemetery section is just one of many. The river winds through the Boston Mountains and you get great scenery. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Mulberry River generally tend to be in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Mulberry River
are in the 20's. Man, is there heaps of fun things to do in the Boston Mountains. A good location in the vicinity of Mulberry River is Big Foot Hollow. Bee Rock is a glorious site to visit while in the area; a short tour to Burrell Spring is always worthwhile. Mulberry River gets much water; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
