This stretch of Mulberry River in Crawford Franklin County is 16 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Crawford Franklin County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The campgrounds here at Mulberry River are pretty good. If you hurry
you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camp stove. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. You might have to
settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. When you're paddling down a Boston Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.

summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs all through the winter are usually in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Mulberry River are in the 20's.
