Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The starting location is a short drive from Harrison, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The beautiful Boston Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. The nature scenery of Newton/Boone/Carroll County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel
great. This is the only paddling section along Osage Creek. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section of Osage Creek in Arkansas is 6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. On this section you do get some
distance, good for a one day paddling trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.
