  The natural beauty of Arkansas and the cool fresh water beats anything. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Acorn to Little Hope Road section is one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. The Acorn to Little Hope Road section of Ouachita River in Polk and Montgomery County is 35.4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There aren’t any hotels right nearby
    but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The wild scenery of the Ouachita Mountains is great.
If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Arkansas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. Now this is a pretty long section, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear.

Briefly about the general area:
A good deal of rain falls at Ouachita River; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January meanwhile is the driest month. For the period of the summertime months, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Ouachita River. Through the
 
dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's; nighttime lows throughout the wintertime for Ouachita River tend to be in the 20's.
