This section of Ouachita River in Montgomery County is 2.9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from     far and near. The Ouachita Mountains scenery is wonderful. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The USFS Dragover stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. Briefly about the general area: Ouachita River is a quite wet place typically with a large amount of rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture. Through the summertime months at Ouachita River highs are usually in the 90's. For the duration of the moonlight   hours it's typically in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Ouachita River descend into the 20's.
