The nature scenery of Arkansas and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. The starting point is not too far from Hot Springs, as you can see on the road map further down. This section is very short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting a good     workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Rockport Ledge section is one of them. The beautiful Ouachita Mountains scenery is an added bonus. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. Lodging is available near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch of Ouachita River in Arkansas is 0.1 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. Briefly about the general area: Steep Hollow is a glorious spot to look at. Ouachita River gets a good deal of water; March is when you get   the most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture. All through the months of summer highs here at Ouachita River get into the 90's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 70's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's while Ouachita River night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's.
