The Rockport Ledge stretch of Ouachita River in Hot Spring County is 0.1 miles long and has been rated as a class II section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Hot Springs, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around
    here. When you're paddling down a Ouachita Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Arkansas is often easier
than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. This is a very short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Rockport Ledge section is one of them. The nature scenery of Arkansas and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There's camping available near Ouachita River.

Hollow. For the period of the warm days of summer here at Ouachita River, high temperatures usually get into the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 70's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 50's with temperatures at Ouachita River dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. Ouachita River is a relatively wet place mostly with lots of rain; during the month of March you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is January.
