The put-in is not too far from Searcy, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The wonderful Cleburne County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Possum Walk Creek beats anything. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The campgrounds here at Possum Walk Creek are pretty good. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very
easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. The beautiful Boston Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting some good exercise
and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. There are no other sections to paddle along Possum Walk Creek than the Five Mile Road to Highway 263 section. This section of Possum Walk Creek is 8.7 miles long and is a class IV-V(V+) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.
Briefly about the general area: At Possum Walk Creek through the months of summer highs are in the 90's, and the nighttime is fairly chillier of course, ordinarily in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's,
and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Possum Walk Creek. Possum Walk Creek sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically March, that's the one that rains the most while January is commonly the driest month.
