This stretch of Possum Walk Creek in Cleburne County is 8.7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V(V+) section. If you're coming from Searcy it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The wonderful Cleburne County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you
want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. Possum Walk Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Five Mile Road to Highway 263
section is the only one. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The wild scenery of the Boston Mountains is great. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here.

the month with most of the rain is March while January is regularly the driest month. Deer Lick Hollow is a good place to spend some time at. High temperatures at Possum Walk Creek through the warm days of summer are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Possum Walk Creek are in the 20's.
