The Deer to Murray stretch of Sandy Springs Hollow is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV+ section. The starting location is a short drive from Harrison, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. reasons enough to come here to paddle. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there
are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The Deer to Murray section is the only paddling section along Sandy Springs Hollow.
