If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. This stretch of Robinson Creek in Arkansas is 9 miles long and has been rated as a class II+ section by American Whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these
hotels fill up quick. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is the
only paddling stretch along Robinson Creek. The scenic beauty of Arkansas and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The wild scenery of the Ouachita Mountains is great.
Briefly about the general area: At Robinson Creek all through the summer highs are in the 90's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 50's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Robinson Creek temperatures fall to the 20's. Robinson Creek gets a good deal of water; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January.
