If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The scenic beauty of Arkansas and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.     You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The river winds through the Ouachita Mountains and you get great scenery. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Saline River usually tend to be in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are commonly in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Saline River.
