  The nature scenery of Saline County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. This section of Saline River - Alum Fork is 20.5 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room
    before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. The starting point is not too far from Hot Springs, please print out a copy of
the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The river winds through the Ouachita Mountains and you get great scenery. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Highway 5 to Benton City Park section is one of them.
