CLASS II+(III)     11.3 miles

We did Hollis to Deberrie 11 mi in a canoe Sunday 3/15/09, gauge ht 3.5-4, rain 2 days ago.  Beautiful scenery, little murky. A big rock Blockhead got us, dumped, not the only exciting place though. Says Slim

Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Russellville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The beautiful
scenery of Perry County and the cool fresh water beats anything. The wild scenery of the Ouachita Mountains is great. There are no other sections to paddle along South Fourche LaFave than the Highway 7 to Deberrie low-water bridge section. This stretch has enough mileage for an
overnight trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. This stretch of South Fourche LaFave in Perry County is 11.3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II+(III) section. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way
this is an area with not too many other spots for that.
