This section of Spring River in Arkansas is 15 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. And of course, there are campgrounds     nearby. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There are many good hotels to choose from, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other spots for that. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the warm days of summer at Spring River temperatures are commonly in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Spring River. Near Spring River you stumble on Onion Hollow which is a good location to explore, and   Horseshoe Bend is an out of the ordinary place to stop by while at Spring River. The high level of rain makes Spring River a rather wet place; during the month of March you get the most rain around here while January is generally the driest month.
