CLASS I-II 15 miles
|
| |
This section of Spring River is 15 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. The scenic beauty of Fulton/Sharp County and the water flowing gracefully down Spring River are reasons enough to |
come here and paddle. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. If you're coming from West Plains it's not a long drive at all to the
| starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The river winds through the Boston Mountains and you get great scenery. The Mammoth | |
