This is the only paddling section along Strawberry River. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area     with not too many other rivers for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. When you're paddling down a Boston Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Batesville, as you can see on the road map further down. The campgrounds here at Strawberry River are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: The high level of precipitation makes Strawberry River a rather wet location; May is the month that gets the most rain; January on the other hand is the driest.   Lofferty Springs is a great local attraction, and taking a little trip to nearby Blue Hole is a wonderful idea.
