This stretch of Sulphur Creek in Arkansas is 6 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Searcy County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average Arkansas whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The Southern Fork to Richland Creek section is the only paddling section along Sulphur Creek. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great
campgrounds nearby. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one,
but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Harrison, as you can see on the road map further down. The wild scenery of the Boston Mountains is great. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that.

here at Sulphur Creek, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's while nighttime lows are usually in the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Sulphur Creek.
