Perry county, NFR 780 to Highway 7 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II+     3.5 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The NFR 780 to Highway 7 stretch of Trace Creek in Perry County is 3.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II+ section. If you're coming from Hot Springs it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back
to the start over and over. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. There
are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The beautiful scenery of Arkansas and the water flowing gracefully down Trace Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The wild scenery of the Ouachita Mountains is great. The NFR 780 to Highway 7 stretch is the only paddling stretch along Trace Creek. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.
