The Highway 23 to War Eagle Mill stretch of War Eagle Creek is 38 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Arkansas tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that rivers here are less demanding. Whitewater paddling here in the Ozarks is a great experience. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting a good     workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, as you can see on the road map further down. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. War Eagle Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Highway 23 to War Eagle Mill section is the only one. Briefly about the general area: For the period of the summer at War Eagle Creek temperatures are usually in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's   with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at War Eagle Creek.
