The starting point is not too far from Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of War Eagle Creek is 38 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way
in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The scenic beauty of Madison Washington Benton County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so make sure you pack enough
food along with your camping gear. The Highway 23 to War Eagle Mill stretch is the only paddling stretch along War Eagle Creek. The campgrounds here at War Eagle Creek are pretty good. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The river winds through the Ozarks and you get great scenery. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in
Arkansas are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding.
Briefly about the general area: War Eagle Creek is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rain; the wettest month of the year is commonly June, that's the
one that rains the most; January meanwhile is the driest month. Summertime highs at War Eagle Creek ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; overnight lows in the 10's for War Eagle Creek.
