This stretch of White River - Middle Fork in Arkansas is 1.75 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Arkansas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some
kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The Arnett to Hicks stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There aren’t
any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The Boston Mountains scenery is wonderful. The beautiful scenery of Madison County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come.
