If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Arkansas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. If you're coming from Batesville it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The wild scenery of the Boston Mountains is great. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. The nature scenery of Arkansas and the water flowing gracefully
down Wolf Bayou attract people from near and far. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Galens Road to Highway 14 section of Wolf Bayou in Arkansas is 6.4 miles long and is a class II-IV section
of whitewater according to American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. There are no other sections to paddle along Wolf Bayou than the Galens Road to Highway 14 section.
Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Wolf Bayou during the warmest time of the year are in the 90's, and the nighttime is a tad chillier of course, regularly in the 60's. Through the wintertime highs
are typically in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Wolf Bayou. All the water falling down from the sky makes Wolf Bayou a wet place; the month with most of the rain is March, and January on the other hand is the driest. Still Hollow is a pleasant spot
to explore, and close by you discover Burton Point. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the Boston Mountains has to offer.
