If you're coming from Batesville it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Arkansas you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. This section of Wolf Bayou in Cleburne / Stone County is 6.4 miles long and it is classified as
a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Cleburne / Stone County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other
good spots for that around here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are no other sections to paddle along Wolf Bayou than the Galens Road to Highway 14 section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The river winds through the Boston Mountains and you get great scenery. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip.

at Wolf Bayou during the summer months are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Wolf Bayou. Still Hollow is a delightful place to spend some time at, and why
not visit Burton Point also since you're here. Much precipitation falls at Wolf Bayou; the month with most of the rain is March; January on the other hand is the driest. Just can't get enough of the Boston Mountains.
