This stretch of American River - North Fork in Placer County is 12.3 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Truckee-Grass Valley, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of California and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The beauty of the Northern Sierra Nevada is
a great plus for this river. There's camping available near American River - North Fork. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This section is long enough for an overnight trip
if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside California you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The Tadpole Creek to Euchre Bar section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.

Corral Spring is always fun to check out; hiking is a popular thing to do around American River - North Fork; Italian Bar Trail is a glorious local trail. American River - North Fork sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
