There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater paddling here in the Santa Lucia Range is
a great experience. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The starting location is a short drive from Salinas, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back
to the start over and over. The scenic beauty of Monterey County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came.
