This stretch of Bear Creek in California is 9.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV(V+) section. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. This is the only paddling section along Bear Creek. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here.
    Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
The wild scenery of the Southern Cascade Range is great. The nature scenery of California and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
