This section of Big Sulphur Creek is 9 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping     in your car. The wild scenery of the Coast Ranges is great. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Iron Bridge to washed-out crossing section is one of them. The campgrounds here at Big Sulphur Creek are pretty good. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. The beautiful scenery of California and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle.
