Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The put-in location is a short drive from Redding, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The wonderful Shasta County scenery and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great.

Reservoir section is the only paddling section along Brandy Creek. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Brandy Creek through the warm months are in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's while Brandy Creek nighttime low temperatures all through
the wintertime are in the 20's. Brandy Creek gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; January is the wettest month with most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Rich Gulch is a great location to check out close by.
