Rincon Camp to Kern River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS V 1.5 miles
You don't walk back up the run.........there is a short shuttle, then you walk down to the put-in Says Scott
This section of Brush Creek is 1.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The beautiful Southern Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus. No matter if you're whitewater rafting
or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This is the only paddling section along Brush Creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up
quick. The nature scenery of California and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes.
Briefly about the general area: While staying at Brush Creek you could always discover Brin Canyon, and a visit to South Creek Falls will fill your soul with delightful feelings. And if that's not enough there's lots more amusing things to do in the Southern Sierra Nevada. All through the long summer days at Brush Creek temperatures
are ordinarily in the 90's, and the overnight is quite chillier of course, typically in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and night lows all through the wintertime for Brush Creek tend to be in the 30's. Brush Creek gets a normal amount of rain; through January this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is July.
