CLASS II(III)     18 miles
The put-in is not too far from Clearlake, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The Highway 20 to Bear Creek Confluence section of Cache Creek in California is 18 miles long and has been rated as a class II(III) section by American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have a
lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping
in your car. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The scenic beauty of Lake / Yolo County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
