This stretch of Cache Creek is 9 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Napa, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more     challenging than the national average, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. Briefly about the general area: Cache Creek is pretty arid mostly; the month with most of the rain is January, and July on the other hand is the driest. Pocket Gulch is a brilliant location to stop by close by. Summer brings highs in the 90's   to Cache Creek. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are generally in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Cache Creek are in the 30's.
