If you're coming from Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The beautiful scenery of Tuolumne County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Upper Bridge to Lower Bridge stretch of Clavey River is 8.5 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The average California
whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Sierra Nevada is a great experience.
