  The wonderful California scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There's camping available near Clavey River. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. This stretch of Clavey River is 20.8 miles long
    and is according to American Whitewater a class V+ section of whitewater. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The put-in is not too far from Phoenix Lake-Cedar Ridge, please print out a copy of the road map further down
the page so you won’t get lost. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The beauty of the Central Sierra Nevada is a great plus for this river.

All through the summer months at Clavey River temperatures are generally in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The
 
winter comes with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Clavey River.
Much rain falls at Clavey River; during January this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is July.
