This stretch of Trace Creek in California is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. The campgrounds here at Trace Creek are pretty good. There are no other stretches to paddle along Trace Creek than the Bear Pen Creek to Klamath River stretch. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. This stretch is mid
length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The wonderful Siskiyou County scenery and the playfulness of
the water have people coming here. The beautiful Klamath Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here.
