The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for     a while will have you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
