  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The nature scenery of California and the cool fresh water have people coming here. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. There's camping available near Cottonwood Creek - Middle Fork. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you
