The nature scenery of Santa Clara County and the water flowing gracefully down Coyote Creek will make you feel great. If you're coming from San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that
lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The campgrounds here at Coyote Creek are pretty good. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature
are great attractions for lots of people. The Gilroy Hot Springs Road to Coyote Reservoir stretch is the only paddling stretch along Coyote Creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip.

most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July. Coyote Creek is in the vicinity of Dexter Canyon which is positively worth checking out. High temperatures at Coyote Creek through the summer months are in the 80's. Summer night lows fall down to the 50's. All through the winter the highs are usually in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Coyote Creek.
